Nickname: Snitty

When the captaincy role became vacant at times last year due to injuries to Matt Leider, Mitch seamlessly filled the hole. In 2019 he was an obvious choice to lead the 2019 campaign. Rock solid, hard working and a wise head on wide shoulders is a proven combination.

What two teams will contest the RWC final this year: Unless Michael Cheika gets sacked I see Wales and NZL battling out the final

Which super rugby team do you support: Qld Reds

How long have you been a USC Barbarian: Since 2006 when I joined the U14s, Uni is my second family.

Best Rugby Memory: Beating my school mates who played at the Swans in the U17 Grand Final in 2009.

Name: Josh Seabrook - From Newark Upon Trent, Nottingham, UK- Josh played a big part in winning the 2018 Colts Championship. Having arrived from the UK mid last year as a exchange teacher at Matthew Flinders Anglican College, Josh is due to return to the UK in the coming weeks. Having made many friends and a big impact at the USC Barbarians it will be with regret to see this fine young man heading home.

Inspiration Rugby Union Player from your childhood: Johnny Wilkinson is my all time hero. Hard worker and a great leader.

What two teams will contest the RWC final this year: England (of course) and Wales. England win 22-18. Johnny May to score in the corner.

Which super rugby team do you support: The Reds- got to back the locals

Whats your game day Ritual: I get up early and go for brekkie with the boys. Get down to the club early to watch the Women's and Colts. Listen to some tunes and get focused for the upcoming game.

Goals for 2019: Keep enjoying my rugby and try and play as well as I can for the rest of my time here. Hopefully pushing towards an A grade starting jersey before going home.

Name: Kendall Gemmell - Picking up the MVP for last Saturdays win over Caloundra, Kendall has made a big impact in the A grade competition. Straight from Sydney, he is one of the many genuinely good guys at USC in 2019.

Which super rugby team do you support: Chiefs 

Whats your game day Ritual: My ritual is pretty simple and is the same every weekend like having a healthy dinner on Friday night with wifey, breakfast in the morning.... but then something out of the ordinary that I will do is grab the speaker, pump the sounds, jump in the shower AND SING/DANCE/RAP out loud. 
Once settled in the shower I'll finger write my goals for todays game on the misty glass door - then read them out aloud

Goals for 2019: Definitely win the premiership with the boys and club. Keep improving my game every week and push my limits.

Introducing you to our newest Senior Women Barbarians!

Having Womens rugby back on the Sunny Coast has been huge for the profile of Womens Rugby, and USC has been put at the for front due to an wonderful crew of young ladies who are simply awesome.

Name: Jett Fairfax- Jetty. A true athlete who has represented at the highest levels in several sports- Jett has played through our junior girls 7s, represented also at Stingrays and notably is the daughter of inspirational former USC Womens Legend Haera Fairfax.

Position: Prefers centre but quite enjoys mixing it up in the second row

How did you hear about USC Rugby: I have grown up with USC my whole life.

What is it that you truly like about playing at USC: Such a cool group of people, especially the girls. I love how passionate we all are.

Whats your game day ritual: Wake up early, eggs on toast, loud music and pre-game work out.

Goal for 2019: Become a better player and understand the game more.

Congratulations to three of our USC senior colts boys for not only their selection to the Qld State School Boys squad but also being integral to the Sunshine Coast School Boys side which won the QLD State championships. 
Surely big things for these young Barbarians in the near future.

Name: Ronin Struyf- Rhino- Having played an integral part in the 2018 Colts Grand Final win over Noosa, Ronin is one of seven 2018 colts who have continued their rugby legacy with USC Seniors into 2019. 6 foot 3 and 98kgs he is young man who thrives in the tight battles up front.

Position: 2018 Prop- 2019 Second Row

What super rugby team do you support: Hurricanes

Whats your game day ritual: A big old meaty breakfast with juice to fuel the tanks. Blaring my game day tunes up until my studs touch the green ready for action.

My rugby inspiration would have to be I intend to improve my skills and knowledge of rugby as I fill into my new position in the second row, and most importantly- have a jolly good time.

Name: Tim Shadforth - Shaddy - As a colts player Tim won the USC 2018 club man of the year by selflessly doing all the jobs on a Saturday other players sometimes avoid - set up, pack up, filling water bottles, running the water and simply willing to help- a bloke every club needs- a good young man doing good things.

Best Rugby Memory- When we beat Noosa in the Colts Grand Final last year in the final seconds of the game.

What's your game day ritual? First up- scrambled eggs, get to footy early and have a flick around the grounds. then get into the changing rooms to get ready for business time

My rugby inspiration would have to be the massive encouragement and support from my awesome family. Always encouraging me to do better which helped me grow and improve as a rugby player.

What's your game day Ritual: a big breakfast at home whilst connecting Spotify to my tv and relaxing. Then will normally head down early to the colts/women’s games and see the boys.

Goal this year is to: Goals for this year is to push my self as far as possible and play as much A grade as possible.

What's your game day Ritual: I'm not a big ritual person so I just keep it low key and relaxed as possible.

Goal this year is to: Having not played for a couple years my goal is to get my fitness back to a point where I can play a full 80 minutes at the level I'm happy with.

What's your game day Ritual: First up I listen to a Joe Rogan podcast, make an egg veggie omeltte, and enjoy black coffee. After eaten, its a slow build of music ranging from J. Cole, Lil Wayne, Lil Baby, Meek Mill, Chance the Rapper and Gunna- to get the mind right for game day.

Goal this year is to: Goal this year is to go back to USA after gaining more rugby knowledge from a land where rugby is predominantly played. This will get me in shape and make me a better player for the USA 2019 Fall Season.
